King.com is Sweden’s Best Employer. It’s the company behind the game Candy Crush Saga, which became a huge success on Facebook. In the survey conducted by Universum, employees at various companies evaluated their employer. Based on the feedback received from employees, Universum has produced a list of the best employers in Sweden. Aside from King.com the results show that Kambi is in second position, while last year’s number one Svensk Fastighetsförmedling is now in third place.
When the employees are asked to grade their employers on three criteria being internal identity, satisfaction and loyalty, it is the smaller Swedish organizations that dominate and take the top positions on the list. For example, H&M, Handelsbanken and Unilever are the only large corporations in the top 10.
“Today’s talent appreciates an environment that is characterized by creativity and entrepreneurship. They also want to feel that they contribute to the success of the company, something that is easier to offer if the organization is smaller and not a global player”, says Claes Peyron, Universum’s Country Manager in Sweden.
The highest ranked employers distinguish themselves by the fact that their employees see them as flexible and think they have a culture where the staff is appreciated by its achievements.
“Today’s talent wants to be seen and appreciated, get constant feedback and the possibility to develop. If they don’t get it, their motivation will decrease and they will soon start to look around for another employer – something that in the long run is expensive for organizations”, comments Peyron.
A performance related bonus, competitive base salary and possibilities for high future earnings are characteristics that also distinguish the highest ranked companies on the list from other employers in Sweden.
“Today’s talent know that they are valuable and want to get paid for what they are worth, maybe not so much in money but definitely in terms of recognition”, adds Peyron.
More importantly, the top 5 companies have one important aspect in common and that being that the employees are very likely to recommend the employer to a friend. In a job market where more and more jobs are filled by referrals, it is essential for organizations to get their own employees to share a positive image of their employer.
