What does the young Brazilian talent want? What is the students’ criteria when choosing their “dream job’? What are the most attractive employers in Brazil in 2022? The Universum Talent Survey Brazil 2022 heard 26,274 Brazilian students from 126 universities across the country and provides unique and revealing data on the current job market. The students shared their opinions and views on their career goals and ideal employers.
The Universe Talent Survey Brazil 2022 presents several points of consonance between the needs of students and the conditions and opportunities offered by employers, providing data and information that signal the preferences and choices of the referred target audience. In this way, through the study it became evident that, for both genders, a good reference for a future career is the attribute that students in all studied areas consider as the most important in the work exercise. The data also revealed that flexibility is a decisive factor when choosing a company. Young professionals look for the possibility of having a schedule that suits their personal interests and thus achieve a better balance between work and family life.
Flora Minardi, Country Manager Brazil for Universum comments: “With all these new talent demands, we see companies prioritizing flexible work policies in their employer brand communications. And this is very interesting because in pre-pandemic Latin America the issue of teleworking was not an option, companies had to adapt and today flexible working conditions are part of the value proposition of many.”
Top preferences by field of study – For students in the business field, training and professional development is the number one priority, followed by “good reference for future career” in second place, and “leaders who support development” in third. Information technology students also have the training and professional development as their number 1 priority, a good reference for future careers in second place, and a preference for working in a company that has a reputation for creativity and innovation in third place.
This year in particular the priorities between male and female talent are more marked than in previous years. We see that women prioritize gender equity and the company’s social responsibility, while for men, innovation and professional career are the aspects that make the most difference.
