Universum has joined forces with Plan International to support improving the standards of education and career opportunities for young people.

STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN, December 16th, 2020 – Today, Universum is delighted to announce its partnership with global child rights organization, Plan International, that will see between 100,000 and 300,000 SEK donated to four educational charitable causes through Universum’s CareerTest.

Universum’s CareerTest is the world’s largest dedicated research platform on talent career expectations and preferences. Since 2015 over one million students and young professionals have voiced their opinions on an annual basis through Universum’s annual talent survey.

Describing what this partnership means for Universum, our university partners and the talent that take part, Partner Relations Manager, Jon Warmington-Lundström said “Given our shared aim of improving opportunities for young people, Plan International was a natural fit to establish a partnership with. By providing donations as an incentive to complete the CareerTest, this partnership will benefit Universum, our participants, our university partners, our customers and, most importantly, Plan International and their incredible projects worldwide. Within the framework of Universum’s new global partnership with Plan International, students’ survey responses on future employers will be directly linked to a donation to Plan International’s many great causes.”

Plan International is an independent child rights organization that works in 81 countries across the world, in Africa, the Americas, and Asia to advance children’s rights and equality for girls.

Describing the partnership with Universum Plan International CEO, Marianne Eriksson said “We are delighted and proud that globally well renowned Universum, that plays such an important role to inform employers of the thoughts and preferences of young talents, has chosen to establish a partnership with Plan International.”

Eriksson added “It is a great idea to motivate students and young professionals to answer the Universum surveys by involving them in the choice of which project Universum should support and then linking the replies to a donation.”

The partnership means that students and young professionals that complete the CareerTest, will be eligible to earn the opportunity to pick a Plan International cause to receive a 1000 SEK donation on their behalf. Participants will be required to answer a short competition question, after which Universum’s jury will choose the best 100 answers that win. The three causes talent will be able to choose from include:

  • Working Future – Which supports entrepreneurial skills in Uganda and Tanzania
  • Digital Divide – Which aims to boost IT literacy and coding skills among young women
  • Zero Tolerance Against Violence – Which supports victims of violence and challenging norms

On top of the three fantastic causes that will be supported by donations via the global competition, Universum will also provide small donations for each respondent and registration to the CareerTest. Throughout the festive period, select university partners will be able to benefit from this initiative which will support the Guatemalan Girl’s Education Scholarship Project.
