Universum joins the global voice and community for market research
STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN, November 12th, 2020 – Today, Universum is delighted to announce that it has become a corporate member of ESOMAR (European Society for Opinion and Market Research). ESOMAR is a non-profit organisation which acts as the global voice and community for market research and companies working with data by promoting the value of market, opinion and social research and data analytics.
Describing why Universum applied to become an ESOMAR member, Global Research Director, Jacinta Waak said “As a company, we are continuously improving our market research methodology and analytics, while taking care of the ethical interests of our respondents. Being an ESOMAR member enables us to put our commitment to ethical practice into context. It gives us the guidance needed to continue our work in striving for the highest standards in market research through this global community”.
One of the key elements that the ESOMAR membership represents for Universum is our continued commitment to consumer protection and to remaining well-informed on the latest ethical matters and guidelines for best practices and regulations in our industry.
Universum’s CEO, Mats Röjdmark said “ESOMAR is the only global association for data, research and insights professionals dedicated to guiding, regulating, promoting, and celebrating the insights and market research profession for over 70 years. Becoming an ESOMAR member is very much in line with our devotion to data quality, top code of conduct and ethical standards. This is an important milestone and part of our long-term strategy towards reinforcing our data quality”.
For over 30 years, Universum has acted as a trusted partner to many of the world’s best-known employers who subscribe to our data on a country, regional and global level. We have always prided ourselves on conducting the world’s largest talent survey, and our ESOMAR membership is very much in line with our current global reach by allowing us to join an international network of over 4900 existing members from over 130 countries.
Explaining what this means for the one million-plus respondents that take our survey every year, Universum Product Owner, Natasja Geigert said “We plan, with this certification, to continue to deliver on the ethical standards we aspire to for the students and young professionals that take our talent surveys, as well as improve our CareerTest to ensure we provide talent with the best experience. Being part of the ESOMAR community will also allow us to network, gain and share knowledge with other innovators within market research”.
