Universum’s Ranking of the Most Attractive Employers in Mexico 2022
New York, June 28, 2022 – Around 42,267 students from 165 universities in Mexico shared their thoughts on their career preferences and aspirations. The annual talent research conducted by Universum this year reveals what the key motivators for talent are and their perception of employers in the country.
According to the research, Amazon and BBVA dominate the ranking this year. Amazon climbed three positions and is now among the top five most desired companies to work for by STEM students. On a similar note, BBVA also continues to rocket through the Business students’ ranking and is now one position away from Google, the most attractive employer for 7 consecutive years now.
The research also found that ‘Remote Work’ continues to be a talent magnet for Mexican candidates. This year, 86% of students showed their interest in remote working, percentage that remained unchanged from the 2021 data. Compared to last year, most of the students expressed different concerns regarding how this new dynamic may affect their overall job performance. For instance, in 2021 students were most worried about remote onboarding. A year later, however, this indicator stopped being a concern at all, shifting towards the distress of how to maintain a good work-life balance.
