Toronto, Canada, Nov 6th, 2018. – Today Universum held the Canadian Universum Awards event in Downtown Toronto at EY’s new tower. This event was held in order to present the winners from this year’s talent survey with their awards. Universum has been present in Canada for over 10 years, but this year is the first time that the company held an event to personally deliver the companies in the top 100 with their awards and recognitions.

This year, Universum’s Talent Survey gathered responses from close to 15,000 Canadian students from 159 of the top universities and colleges in the country. Set out to track career aspirations and preferences of the future talent pool, Canada’s Most Attractive Employers 2018 recognizes the most coveted employers based solely on the responses collected.

For the Universum Talent Survey, students are asked to share their opinions and views on their career goals and ideal employers, this is the base for the creation of the top 100 Most Attractive Employer Rankings which recognizes companies in 5 categories: business, engineering/IT, natural sciences, health/medicine, liberal arts/humanities and law.

During this occasion, Jason Kipps, Managing Director for Universum Canada, presented an overview on the state of the Canadian talent market and EY and Scotiabank were invited to share their work in the field of Employer Branding and showcase their best practices in recruiting student and young professional talent across the country.

Jason along with, Global Account Director, Kortney Kutsop, unveiled the top companies in the Universum rankings, and presented the employers in the top 100 with their awards during this time. EY’s Chairman and CEO, Jad Shimaly, along with Managing Director for Talent: Steven Shea accepted EY’s award for having placed in 2nd place among the Business ranking.

Universum holds several Awards ceremonies around the world to celebrate and showcase companies that have continuously fostered efforts to attract and retain the best talent in their organizations.
