The results of the Dutch Top 50 IDEAL Employers 2014 student survey tracks talent career preferences and determines the most attractive employers in The Netherlands. The research functions as a basis for decision-making when choosing target groups, messages and channels for future employer branding campaigns, as well as a control instrument for measuring the appeal an organization has over its specific target groups. As we take a closer look at their career objectives 2014, we see that “To be entrepreneurial or creative/innovative” comes back on top among business students, taking the place of Work life balance, which clearly shows that it is a central element for young talent. Another interesting observation concerns the career goal “To be secure or stable in my job”. For both business and engineering students, the importance of this goal decreased in 2014 for the first time since 2010. This could be explained by the fact that we are slowly rising from the crisis, allowing the students to feel more confident about their career plans, thus taking more risks when picking potential employers to work for. Below we present the employers that are ranked as the Dutch Ideal Employers in 2014.

Number of respondents: 8,132
Number of universities targeted: 32 leading universities and universities of applied sciences
Field period: October 2013 to April 2014
