Wellbeing at Work

By Universum, 2022-07-07

Universum’s Wellbeing Pulse Survey explores how employers can support and prioritize employee wellbeing in a post-pandemic work world.

When it comes to emotional wellbeing, what do employees expect from employers, and what role is the right one for employers in this sensitive space?

Universum’s Wellbeing Pulse Survey examines the attitudes of over 1,800 university students and young professionals across the globe, exploring how employers can support and prioritize employee wellbeing in a post-pandemic work world.

As the worst outcomes of the pandemic eased in 2021, a shadow mental health crisis emerged. In the early months of the pandemic, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control reported that symptoms of anxiety disorder increased threefold, and symptoms of depressive disorder increased fourfold (from early 2019 to June 2020). Yet other aspects of the pandemic improved wellbeing in meaningful ways — particularly the mass movement to working from home. Our latest research shows more than 3 in 4 (78%) say hybrid work enhances wellbeing.

Universum commissioned a study to understand these trends. During April and May 2022, we surveyed over 1,800 university students and young professionals (35 years old and younger). Respondents represent 19 countries across APAC (Asia Pacific), EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa), Latin America, and North America.

This eBook contains our latest findings including:
